The Detour May Be Divine
When God Redirects You, A change in direction does not mean God has changed His mind about your purpose.

Welcome to a new week.
Life does not always follow the route we carefully planned. Doors close, timelines shift, relationships change, and opportunities sometimes disappear without explanation.
A detour can feel like a disappointment—especially when you were certain you were headed in the right direction. But an unexpected turn does not mean you have wandered beyond God’s reach.
Sometimes the road changes because God can see what you cannot.
This Week’s Scripture
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
—Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
Trusting God With the Route
Making plans is wise, but surrendering those plans to God is an act of faith.
We often ask God to bless the path we have chosen. Yet sometimes His answer comes through redirection. He may close a door that looked promising, interrupt a comfortable routine, or lead us through unfamiliar territory.
Redirection can be uncomfortable because it requires us to release our picture of how life should unfold. However, God is not limited by the route you expected to take.
A closed door may protect you from what you could not see. A delay may prepare you for what you are not ready to carry. An unexpected turn may introduce you to people, opportunities, and growth you would have missed on your original path.
You may not understand the detour today, but you can trust the One directing your steps.
Your Monday Reflection
Take a quiet moment and ask:
Where has life taken an unexpected turn?
Am I resisting a redirection because it does not resemble my original plan?
What can I learn or receive in this present season?
This week, replace “Why is this happening?” with “God, how are You leading me through this?”
This Week’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing the entire road when I can see only the next step. Help me release the plans that no longer align with Your direction. Give me discernment to recognize Your guidance and courage to follow, even when the route feels unfamiliar. Use every detour to deepen my faith and draw me closer to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Weekly Affirmation
I am not lost. God is ordering my steps, guiding my journey, and using every unexpected turn for a greater purpose.
Your Encouragement for the Week
Do not judge the destination by the difficulty of the road.
God can bring purpose from an interruption, wisdom from a delay, and beauty from a path you never planned to travel.
Keep walking. The detour may be part of the direction.
Rooted in faith and rising with purpose,
Renita
