Purpose Isn’t Waiting on Perfection—It’s Waiting on Submission - Part 2

Purpose is Revealed in the Surrender

So many of us are searching for purpose like it’s hidden behind a locked door…

But purpose is not hidden—it’s revealed through obedience.

📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Notice that—in all your ways submit.

Not when it’s convenient.
Not when it’s clear.
Not when it’s comfortable.

But in all your ways.

Submission is the key that unlocks direction.

God Uses Willing, Not Perfect

If perfection were the requirement, none of us would qualify. Not one.

But throughout scripture, God consistently chose people who were imperfect… yet submitted.

  • Moses had doubts

  • David had flaws

  • Esther had fear

  • Peter made mistakes

Yet God used them all—because they said yes.

📖 Romans 12:1 (NIV)
“Therefore, I urge you… to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

A living sacrifice—that’s submission.

Not a one-time moment, but a daily decision:
“God, I give You my thoughts, my plans, my fears, my gifts—use me.”

Your “Yes” is Enough

You don’t need another certification.
You don’t need to feel 100% ready.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.

What you need… is a surrendered heart.

Because purpose doesn’t begin when you’re perfect—
it begins when you say:

“Here I am, Lord. Send me.”

📖 Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Reflection

What have you been delaying in the name of “getting ready”?
Where is God asking for your submission… instead of your perfection?

Sit with that. Let it settle. Let it speak.

Because your purpose isn’t waiting on a better version of you—
it’s waiting on a surrendered version of you.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that we don’t have to strive for perfection to be used by You. Teach us to release our need for control and to fully submit to Your will. Quiet our fears, silence our doubts, and strengthen our “yes.” Help us to trust that You are working through us, even in our imperfections.

Lord, we surrender our plans, our timing, and our understanding to You. Lead us into purpose with boldness, humility, and faith.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🤍
